For employees
You have just been invited to a business: accept the invitation, get a key, plug it into your AI assistant, and see what you can read.
This section is for the people who use skills, not for the people who manage them. Your whole part fits in three steps and takes under ten minutes.
Step 1: Accept the invitation
Open the invitation email and click the link inside it.
The link lives 7 days and works once. If it has expired, ask whoever invited you to press Resend.
The invitation page shows you everything up front: the business name, your role, your job title, your department and the invited email.
Sign in. If you don't have an account yet, create one.
You have to use the exact email address that was invited. Signing in with a different one shows a Wrong account warning, and you have to sign out and start again.
Press Accept invitation. You land straight on the dashboard of the business.
If you already have a CoreSkill account from another business, just sign in and accept. One account can belong to several businesses, and the business switcher in the top bar hops between them.
The Businesses page has an Invitations waiting for you block, but deliberately no button on it, because the invite token lives only in the email and never appears in the interface. If you can't find the email, ask the person who invited you to send it again.
Step 2: Get a key
Open My access in the sidebar. This is your home page.
- A manager already issued you a key: it is sitting in the My keys card. But the real key is shown exactly once, at the moment it is issued. If you didn't copy it in time, you have to ask for a new one.
- The business allows self-service keys: press Issue myself a key, name it after the machine you use (
Laptop,Office PC), pick an expiry, press New key. - No such button: this business doesn't allow self-service. Ask your manager or a business admin to issue one for you.
Copy the key the moment it appears
The amber Copy this key now card is shown once. Leave the page and it is gone. The system never stores the real key, so nobody can read it back to you, not even an administrator.
You can hold up to 5 active keys. One key per machine is a good habit: lose the laptop and you revoke just that one, while everything else keeps working.
Step 3: Plug it into your AI assistant
Right on the My access page, the Connect your AI card carries the hub address and a ready snippet for each piece of software. Press copy, then paste it in. For the detail on each client, see Connect your AI assistant.
Then ask your assistant: *"list the skills you have"*. If it reads a list back to you, you are done.
What is on the My access page
- Your membership
- Your role, job title and department, with one line explaining what that role can do.
- My keys
- Your keys, their status, their expiry and when each was last used.
- Skill servers you can read
- Exactly the servers shared with you, with the name of every skill inside them. This is the card to check when your AI says it sees no skills.
- Recent activity
- The last 20 calls made with your keys.
Things worth knowing
- You can read, you can't change anything. Your AI assistant has no tool that alters a skill. That is the design, not a limit aimed at you personally.
- Every call is recorded: who you are, which tool, when, from which piece of software. Managers can see it, and so can you, for your own calls, under Usage logs.
- Skills are company property. The assistant is asked to apply what it reads to the work, not to recite it back to you word for word.
- Move to another department and your skill set follows immediately, on the same old key. There is nothing to reconfigure.
- Don't pass your key to a colleague. The log will put your name on everything they do with it.
Lost machine, or a key you think has leaked
Open My access, find that machine's key, press Revoke.
This button only appears when the business lets you issue your own keys. If it isn't there, tell your manager or a business admin right away, since they can revoke it in seconds.
Issue a new key for the replacement machine.
Go through Recent activity to see what that key was used for.
Revoking takes effect immediately: there is no session to wait out and no expiry to reach. The very next call with that key is refused and written to the log.
When something goes wrong
| Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| Your AI says it sees no skills | Open My access → the Skill servers you can read card. Empty means nobody has shared a server with your department yet, so ask a manager to. |
| It ran fine and then broke | The key may have been revoked or expired. Check the Status column in My keys. |
| Whatever page you open says not found | That is normal: a Member cannot open Skill servers, Members, Departments or Member keys. |
| Opening the business says your membership is suspended | A manager suspended you. Contact them to be reinstated. |
