Terms of service

The agreement between you and whoever runs CoreSkill: who the parties are, what you may and may not do, who owns the content you upload, how the service may be suspended, and where responsibility stops.

Effective 22/9/2026

No lawyer has reviewed this text

This document is written to match how CoreSkill actually works, and it is far more than a placeholder. It is still not legal advice and no qualified lawyer has reviewed it. Before it binds paying customers, Core Skill must have a lawyer read the whole thing, above all the limitation of liability, the indemnity and the governing law.

These terms are an agreement between you and Core Skill, the company that operates the CoreSkill service. Creating an account, accepting an invitation, or using any key issued by the system means you accept what follows. If you do not accept it, do not create an account, and if you already have one, stop using it and delete it.

The parties

Provider
Core Skill, registered at coreskill.app. The company that develops and operates CoreSkill, and that holds the servers and the database on which the service runs.
Customer
The organization that creates a business in the system. The Owner of that business accepts these terms on the organization's behalf, and the organization answers for everything done inside it.
User
A person invited into a business. A User is bound by these terms and, separately, by the internal rules of the organization that invited them.

Eligibility and authority

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. CoreSkill is a tool for work and is not directed at children.
  • If you accept these terms for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization. If you are not, do not accept them.
  • You must give accurate registration details and keep them current. The Owner's email address is the only route by which account recovery and legal notices reach the organization.
  • One person may create or join several businesses, subject to the limit the system applies to each account.

What the service does

CoreSkill lets an organization write or upload skills, meaning sets of instructions and procedures for AI assistants, group them into servers, scope those servers to the whole company or to individual departments, and issue a key to each person. Their AI assistants connect over the MCP protocol and always read the current skills for their department. Every call is recorded in a log, including calls that are refused.

Core Skill operates the system and holds your data

In this arrangement the servers, the database and the backups belong to Core Skill, so the content your organization uploads is held and processed by Core Skill on your behalf. That makes your organization the controller of the personal data inside its business, and Core Skill the processor. What that means in practice is set out in the Privacy policy and, in binding form, in the Data processing addendum.

Accounts, and the keys the system issues

  • You are responsible for everything done under your account. Use a long password that you use nowhere else, and turn on two-factor authentication if you are an Owner, an Admin or a Manager.
  • An MCP key is a secret on a par with a password. Do not send one over a public channel, do not paste one into shared source code, and do not let several people share one key.
  • A key is shown once, at the moment it is issued. The system stores only a hash, so nobody can read a key back to you afterwards, not even a system administrator of Core Skill.
  • If you suspect a key has leaked, revoke it immediately and issue a new one. One key per machine means losing one never forces you to replace them all.
  • Do not attempt to use a key that is not yours, and do not go looking for servers, skills or departments you were not given access to.
  • Keys are issued in the name of a person and every call is logged under that name. Issuing a key on somebody else's behalf and keeping it makes the log attribute that person's calls to work they did not do, and is a breach of these terms.

Your content stays yours

Your skills, your attached files and everything else you upload remain yours. CoreSkill stores them and hands them to the right people according to your own settings, and nothing more. Core Skill does not sell them, does not share them, does not use them for advertising and does not use them to train any AI model. You grant Core Skill one narrow permission: to store, back up and deliver that content to valid keys, for the sole purpose of operating the service for you.

In return you warrant that you hold the rights to the content you upload, that it breaks no law and infringes nobody's rights, and that you have obtained any consent required from the people described in it. Where exactly the line runs is set out on the Acceptable use policy page, which forms part of these terms.

What you must not do

The Acceptable use policy lists the prohibited uses in full and is incorporated into this agreement by reference. In short: nothing illegal, nothing that attacks the system or other customers, no attempt to reach data that is not yours, and no automated extraction of skill content beyond what your own AI assistants need in order to do your work.

Personal data

Core Skill processes personal data in two capacities. For account data, meaning your name, email address, sign-in history and security settings, Core Skill is the controller and the Privacy policy applies. For everything inside a business, meaning members, departments, skills and MCP logs, Core Skill acts as a processor on the Customer's instructions, and the Data processing addendum applies. Where the addendum and these terms conflict on a question of personal data, the addendum prevails.

Availability, maintenance and support

Availability
Core Skill works to keep CoreSkill available, but no uptime figure is guaranteed unless a separate written agreement states one. The service depends on infrastructure and network providers outside Core Skill's control.
Maintenance
Planned maintenance that is expected to interrupt the service will be announced in advance where circumstances allow. Urgent security fixes may be applied without notice, because delaying them is the greater harm.
Support
Support is provided by email at [email protected] during normal working hours. No response time is guaranteed without a separate agreement.

Fees

CoreSkill contains no payment features: it takes no money, stores no card details and has no plans built into the product. If you and Core Skill have a separate commercial agreement, the fees, the billing cycle and the consequences of non-payment live in that agreement, not here. Where no such agreement exists, the service is provided without charge and may be withdrawn on reasonable notice.

Suspension and termination

  • You may stop at any time: leave the business, or delete it if you are the Owner. Deleting a business removes its servers, skills, keys, members and logs, and cannot be undone.
  • Core Skill may suspend a business or an account where it finds a serious breach of these terms or of the Acceptable use policy, where the security of the service or of other customers is at risk, or where the law requires it.
  • A suspension cuts off all three kinds of MCP key at once, so the AI assistants of every person in that business stop receiving skills immediately.
  • Except where the law or an immediate security risk prevents it, Core Skill will notify the Owner of a suspension and state the reason, and will lift it once the cause is resolved.
  • On termination, content is deleted or returned as described in the Data processing addendum. Ask before you terminate if you want an export.

Warranty and limitation of liability

Warranty
The service is provided as is and as available. Core Skill does not promise that it will run without interruption or defect, nor that it fits any particular purpose of yours.
Limitation
To the fullest extent the law allows, Core Skill is not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or business interruption. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid Core Skill for the service in the twelve months before the event, and where you paid nothing, to a nominal amount.
What is never excluded
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the law does not permit to be excluded, including liability for fraud, for intentional misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

A skill is an instruction to an AI doing real work

CoreSkill delivers your instructions to AI assistants faithfully. It does not judge whether an instruction is correct, safe, lawful or wise, and it cannot know what an AI assistant will do with it. Review a skill before you hand it to your people, exactly as you would review a written procedure. The consequences of a bad instruction belong to whoever wrote and published it.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Core Skill against any third-party claim arising from content you uploaded, from your use of the service in breach of these terms, or from your infringement of someone else's rights. Core Skill will notify you promptly of any such claim and will not settle it without your agreement.

Third-party services

CoreSkill connects to AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Gemini, and may connect to sign-in and email providers that an administrator configures. Those products are operated by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. Core Skill is not responsible for what a third-party AI assistant does with the skills it reads, nor for outages or changes on their side.

Force majeure

Neither party is liable for failing to perform where the cause is outside its reasonable control, including natural disaster, war, epidemic, failure of a public network, power cut, or an act of a public authority. The affected party must notify the other as soon as it reasonably can, and resume performance once the cause has passed.

Changes to these terms and to the service

  • Core Skill may change these terms. The new version is published on this page with a new effective date, and material changes will be notified to the Owner by email at least 15 days in advance where that is practicable.
  • Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the new version. If you do not accept it, stop using the service and delete your business before that date.
  • Core Skill may add, change or remove features. Where a change removes a feature you rely on, reasonable notice will be given, except where the removal is required for security or by law.

Notices

Notices to you are sent to the email address on your account, and are treated as received on the day they are sent. Keep that address current: an address that no longer works does not postpone a notice. Notices to Core Skill go to [email protected], or by post to Core Skill, coreskill.app.

Assignment, severability and the whole agreement

  • You may not assign this agreement without Core Skill's written consent. Core Skill may assign it as part of a merger, an acquisition or a sale of the business, and will notify you if it does.
  • If any clause is found invalid, the rest stays in force and the invalid clause is read as narrowly as needed to make it valid.
  • Failing to enforce a right on one occasion does not waive it for later occasions.
  • These terms, together with the Acceptable use policy, the Privacy policy, the Cookie policy and the Data processing addendum, are the whole agreement between the parties on this subject, and replace any earlier understanding.

Governing law and disputes

  1. This agreement is governed by the law of Core Skill, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
  2. If a dispute arises, the parties will first try to resolve it by negotiation in good faith within 30 days of one party notifying the other in writing. Most disputes end here, and it costs nothing to try.
  3. Any dispute that negotiation does not resolve is submitted to the competent court of Core Skill, unless a separate written agreement between the parties provides for arbitration.

Language

These terms are published in English and in Vietnamese. The two versions are written to say the same thing. If a difference of meaning is found, the Vietnamese version prevails for customers governed by the law of Core Skill.
